How does a phone consultation work?
Dr. Hedberg works with patients all over the world by phone or through Skype because the health programs he designs are based on the results of lab tests that can easily be done in your home (with the exception of a test that requires a blood draw. Most tests Dr. Hedberg uses require stool, saliva, or urine samples.) Dr. Hedberg bases his health programs on your health history, detailed questionnaires and lab tests that assess the function of your body’s systems.
During your initial phone consultation Dr. Hedberg will review your personal and family health history and make recommendations for lab tests that are appropriate for your specific health issues.
Once your lab work has been completed, Dr. Hedberg will explain the meaning of your test results to you in a follow up consultation. He will also create an individualized health program for you which will include one or more of the following: diet changes, nutritional supplements, and exercise, lifestyle and stress management recommendations. Subsequent consultations are scheduled to monitor your progress and to modify your program.

How long is the initial consultation?
Your first consultation will take 60-90 minutes.
What is the fee for a consultation?
The fee for your initial consultation is $275 which includes Dr. Hedberg's review of your case and a one hour consultation. Length of follow-up consultations depends on how many lab tests you have done and the complexity of your issues.
Fee Schedule
• 60 minutes: $200
• 45 minutes: $150
• 30 minutes:$100
• 15 minutes: $65
Your second appointment is 1 hour and is reduced to $150.00.
Payment is due at time of consultation
Methods of payment are Personal check (sent in advance) Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
All consultations are time-recorded from the time the appointment begins; you will only be billed for the actual time used.
Insurance
Lab testing done through Labcorp is completely covered a vast majority of the time. Other labs will file the tests to your insurance company for you as a courtesy. Payment is expected up front for these labs and if the test is covered, you will be reimbursed directly from your insurance company.
Because we do not bill insurance companies, it is up to each individual to determine whether their insurance plan provides coverage for consultations, supplements and lab tests. Per your request, we will provide a superbill to you that lists CPT and diagnosis codes that you may submit to your insurance company. Our superbills provide the codes for consultations and lab tests. Most insurance companies will not reimburse for supplements. Please note that we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
Appointments
Follow-up phone and in-office consults may be scheduled in 15, 30, 45, or 60-minute blocks of time.
We encourage you to book your appointments at least one week in advance.

Lab Tests
The results of your lab test(s) will be sent to Dr. Hedberg 1 to 3 weeks after mailing your specimens to the lab. Lab tests through Labcorp only take a few days.
Dr. Hedberg will evaluate the results. After evaluation we will contact you to schedule a follow-up appointment.
Phone Patients
Dr. Hedberg will call you at the time of your scheduled consultation. He strives to operate on a precise schedule, so please keep your phone line clear.
If paying by credit card, the card number is required to be on file with our office prior to the consultation. Checks are accepted if received prior to the consult.
As a courtesy to you, our office will email you to confirm your appointment in advance.
Skype is free software that can be downloaded form www.skype.com. This allows you to talk to anyone in the world at no charge who also has Skype. This is an option if you are not available by phone or live overseas.
Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, you must notify our office a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled time or you may be charged for that appointment.
Product Orders
Supplements can be ordered directly from the companies that Dr. Hedberg utilizes. You will be given the ordering codes and supplement list. Products ship the same day and arrive usually in 3 business days.
Important Notes
Dr. Hedberg is not a medical doctor; he does not service medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, you must contact your primary care physician or dial 911.
